Bugging out

Looking at the latest projections and going through at least two changes of shorts, looks like I’ll be heading further north after all sometime later today.
I will not entrust our three cats to shelters and humane societies. We lost one this year already. We will not risk losing others, despite the good-hearted intentions of those who would take them in.
Clearing the patio of future UFO’s. Will post before and after photos.
Have 45, 10, and 59 been set as all-lanes-outbound yet? Or did they hand off the escape route planning to Ray Nagin and he’s officially declared I-610 the way out of town?

  1. Dang, that 610 comment absolutely killed me. Having just got out yesterday from Hobby airport (felt like the fall of Saigon somehow, just missing the chickens and pigs), I can’t imagine how it’s going to be trying to get out now. Good luck to all….

  2. …Have 45, 10, and 59 been set as all-lanes-outbound yet?…
It wasn’t until I got to “59” that I realized you were talking about highways and not calibers. I thought it was “I’ve got my .45ACP, my 10mm,…”.
With that cleared up, IMO, roads travel better when you’re armed.
Brother and SIL are on the south side of Houston, and aren’t answering their phone now. I’m hoping it’s because they’re on their way to Dallas and her relations there. Not that I haven’t advised them otherwise, but they won’t be armed (they’re like that).
Seriously, best of luck. Although at this point if you’re online reading this, you’ll need all you can get.

  3. Yeah, they’ve made both sides of the Katy Freeway one way. Those loops are great escape routes….oh, wait…
If you’re headed to SA, suggest US 90A west through Rosenburg. Not a super highway, but also not listed as an evac route, so it might be clear.
