The Mexican Sabbath Day

I’ve been reading about these so-called “pro-immigration” protests being planned for May 1st by “civil rights activists” and there’s something that doesn’t quite add up.
Individuals of Mexican descent, whether citizens or legal immigrants or those in the U.S. illegally, are being called upon to refuse to work or engage in any commerce on May 1st in protest of pending bills in Congress that have yet to be emasculated by pro-Amnesty elected officials ignoring the overwhelming will of the American citizenry. You know, to raise awareness of their contributions to society and stuff like that. Or just to get a “goofoff” day off from work or school.
Well, excuse me, but Jews have been doing that kind of thing for over 5,700 years. On a weekly basis, even. And do you see anybody taking us seriously?
No freaking way. We’re still getting stabbed, bombed, shot, blown up, and blamed for everything from the plague to RIAA violations. (Okay, faking the Moon Landing was us. But we’ve learned from our mistakes, and we’ll do a better job when we fake the Mars Landing in 2011.)

Of course, our mistake may have been doing that stuff to coincide with the start of the weekend. I mean, we invented ‘Thank G-d It’s Friday” for crying out loud. Maybe if we’d do that stuff on a Tuesday or a Thursday, folks would realize the Jewish contributions to society when they have to rearrange their court dates, reschedule surgeries, or the weather gets all out of whack when the Zionist Weather Control Machines are shut down. (Sorry, New Orleans!)

  1. I’m still confused. Mexicans are taking the day off so that they will be taken seriously?
Can I take the day off, too? Us rednecks don’t get the recognition we deserve, either. I mean, how else would you get your deer jerky every year? And how do you think the Dukes of Hazzard, country music, and wood alcohol got started?
I demand recognition! I’m taking tomorrow off. Fear me!

  2. I have to do somethin’ as part of the day off, huh? Ummm…
I got it! As part of my protest that Rednecks do not get the official recognition that they deserve, I will fish. But I won’t just fish – I will fish angrily.

  3. Well, now that I see Mexico is about to legalize small amounts of Herion, Cocaine, and Marijuana for personal use.
Perhaps we can convince Documented UNworkers to make a run for the border and replace them with illegals.
With the across the board cost savings, we could afford to pay them at least minimum wage…
Bah, we can still pay them 1.75… we will just pocket the savings…

  4. One day? That’s all? C’mon, Mexico, go for the gusto & make it a year instead. It’s not like you won’t get paid still; that’s why WE pay taxes… so you can be here illegally and be a burden on the REAL American’s health/welfare/school/correction/employment systems, while proclaiming how much we need you.
    “La Raza” is muy malo.

  5. I suggest we march on Cinco de Mayo. We’ll demand the same rights as the illegals — no taxes, the ability to steal, lie, and create general mischief, and free government health care/education/etc. I’m sure President Bush would support us also.

  6. I’m also a redneck in Texas & I vote we all take a day off to go fishing like the other guy said. Thats a good idea but lets add a kick to it. Let all sit in our front yards like the illegals do & play stupid “La Cocaraca” music so loud that the whole town can hear it. LOL !!!

  7. I am amazed by the rhetoric about the necessity of these immigrants to do the work that “no one else will do.”
I have witnessed the entire mexican workforce vaporize on two occasions with two separate contractors/employers.
    Both, were kinda funny.
The first time was when a former security guard for the highrise office building that had recently become a State Policeman, visited his old job in uniform and was talked into pulling a prank on the construction foreman totally unrelated to the workers.
Upon seeing a uniformed officer, 3/4 of the workforce emptied down the emergency exits never to be heard from again.
The second time was another contractor that had two workers that were arrested for a felony drug violation outside of a strip joint the night before. (We learned this from an off duty officer working security.) When the others, discovered that two of their coworkers were unaccounted for, they all melted away by lunchtime never to be heard from again. Probably amid rumors of an ICE bust.
So, this day off thing is just another day.
    They never learn…

  9. Don’t have much to say, just wanted to read the comments.
I think it’s fair to say that Americans in the Navy who are of Mexican descent will be at work on Monday.
On a more serious note, some of the rhetoric coming out of the activists is outright seditious, and a little frightening. I swear to G-d, if this turns into Paris style rioting, and we let them just get away with it, then this isn’t America anymore.
Sorry, I’m usually more witty when I comment…time for my morning beer.

  10. I am very pleased to see that Mexico has legalized drugs… Now Mexico will have to build the border fence to keep the hippies out. Even if they don’t get it completed very quickly, it is still a good trade to send down hippies and bring back workers.
