I Made Chimichangas Tonight

I did the work Mexicans were unwilling to do today.

  1. Although we did not make Tex-Mex, I did go shopping yesterday. It was refreshing to go into a store and not have to contend with someone who barely speaks the language and is supposed to communicate with you.
Do you think we could get them to do this once a week?
I think May 5th should be Legal American day, where we take off and Illegals and their supporters can wait on us. Maybe we could not shop, buy gas, not go to work. I wonder how many businesses would be shut down that day. We wouldn’t even have to protest, the silence in our cities and towns would be staggering.
I would love to hear that.

  2. I went so far as to eat lunch at my fave TexMex restaurant Monday (I had enchiladas if you’re interested). Yep, they were open and business appeared normal. But check this out. On our local news Sunday evening, they interviewed a lady who admitted she was here illegally – the newscaster even had to translate since evidently the lady didn’t speak English. Is that not surreal? But, here’s what really cracked me up (and people with a basic understanding of Economics will laugh too). She told the newscaster that she normally bought her groceries on Monday; but in order to support the boycott, she was doing her shopping on Sunday instead. Wow, I hope the owner of the market got the message she was sending. 🙂

  3. Hey, I think maybe we can have illegal aliens do something else that Americans would rather not have to do… go to Iraq and Afghanistan and risk their lives for this country. They say they “belong” here. Well… then I say they should help fight for it. Maybe then… when they come back… we can get the process going for them to become American citizens. But until then… they need to prove it.
    Whaddya think?

  4. hate to tell you Sarahk but one of the supporting companies of the walk out/strike/protest/day off/siesta time no hable espanol day was …your favorite…Chipotle Restaurants (a Colorada based chain).
I went shopping because i could avoid the mamacita with 5 screaming childrenos (sorry I forgot the spanish name for children)…mijos or something…
Really I love Mexicans…I just like mine legal and speaking English in their new country U.S. of A. and I am not fond of the 8 1/2 month pregnant ones who come across the border to have free children…mijos…while I have to pay for mine. Viva la Mexico!

  5. We had fun going around and spending money to counteract the boycott. Bought a book I didn’t need, bought some gifts, went out to a restaurant for dinner. Boycott this! LOL

  6. Traffic was better for me. A lot less over loaded vans and pickups with doors and fenders that don’t match. Wait.. my truck doors and fenders don’t match!!??
Anyway, I heard the president say that rounding up all of these illegals would be impossible. The left is right on this one.. He must not be to bright.. Yesterday we had all rounded up into large groups the govt. flat out missed their damn chance!!

  7. I cut my own grass and took my family to eat at an Indian restaurant. All in all, my day was not changed in the least by Illegal Alien Spring Break. Perhaps this weekend I’ll clean my own gutters and eat at a Sushi bar.

  8. In SF it was great. Even the bums weren’t around. I had Thai for lunch. Didn’t even give me cramps like the mexican place that was closed normally does. I feel a little petty though, since now I’m boycotting them for a month.
Not that they’d notice, there was a line around the block full of hippies who couldn’t wait to show their appreciation:-\
