From the home country of the man who wrote the Palestinian anthem about “volcanoes of revenge” comes the latest melody of suicidal idiocy:
Greece on Thursday expressed “serious concern” over Israeli attacks in Lebanon, and urged neighboring countries to show restraint.
Government spokesman Evangelos Antonaros also urged the Hizbullah to release Israeli soldiers held hostage.
“Greece expresses its serious concern and is intensely troubled,” Antonaros said.
“It is vital, to stop the (situation) worsening, Hizbullah must immediately release the soldiers taken hostage,” he said. “At the same time, Greece calls on the government of Israel to avoid the use of excessive and pointless force which cannot provide a solution to the problem.”
I didn’t see any restraint on the part of the Greeks when they were wiping out November 17 cells before the 2004 Olympics.
But then, this is coming from a country who’s Honor Guard in front of their Tomb of the Unknown Soldier wears girlier skirts than the Scottish in their kilts.

Yeah, and I love the poof balls on their shoes. Note to Greece – do not make military uniforms with skirts and poof balls – you will be wiped out in your first skirmish with large housecats, let alone soldiers. And the berets don’t help, either.
The sole purpose of the Greek military uniform is probably to intimidate someone into not wanting to become a prisoner of war, for fear they will need to check their Greek phrase-book for “You sure got a purdy mouth”.
….even disregarding the gay uniform…why does Greece think anyone cares what they say? They haven’t been a figure on the world stage since the Roman Empire.

I like the fact that the EU has come out saying “Israel’s response is disproportionate”…..Um….how else does one WIN or LOSE at ANYTHING? The more “disproportionately” they handle things, the sooner the terrorists would be dead, and the sooner the crisis would be over……I think the US should take a page out of Israel’s playbook and make all fronts in our war on terror MUCH more “disproportionate”.
Of course the soldiers are unknown; if I had to dress like that, I wouldn’t want people knowing who I am either.
