Nuke the News: Courageous Stance!

* Big news yesterday. Obama took a strong, clear pro-donor money stance.

The funny thing to me is that what brought on Obama “courageous evolution” was Joe Biden just shooting his stupid mouth off as usual. All indications are that the White House was caught off guard by it and basically it, along with the North Carolina vote, made his position on gay marriage no one believed look all the more craven. They figured supporting gay marriage will hurt him with whatever religious voters the Democrats haven’t already scared away but him looking like the politically calculating coward he is was even worse.

So courageousness!

This probably neutralizes the flip flop issue for Romney, though. When called on anything, he can just say he “evolved.”

* I’ve already got a couple fund raising emails from Obama where you’re supposed to award him for his courage.

It starts “Today, I was asked a direct question and gave a direct answer”. Yeah, after 99 times of hedging on the answer. Yet, lots of Dems are applauding this. In their hearts they know how craven he is, but once again they want to believe. I always said this should be the campaign poster for Obama:

* Meanwhile, we got the back-patters like Shep Smith telling us how the issue is already decided and anyone against gay marriage is on “the wrong side of history.” Do they really think this gay marriage issue is going to end Christianity? The Bible seems to have a pretty clear definition of marriage straight from Jesus, so I don’t really see this going away. It may be like sex before marriage where society has decided its okay and most people ignore Christian morality on it, but the opposition will never end. “We’re really modern and we all believe this now” is not a sound theological argument that lasts.

* In non gay marriage, the economy is still crumbling and many people are still thinking of reelecting the incompetent boob who has been presiding over it.

* Wisdom of the Day from Jon Henke:

This is, what, the umpteenth consecutive news cycle that’s not about Obama’s record and the economy? This is how Democrats will win.

  1. Shepard Smith…yep, he’ one of those “far right wing conservatives” from “Faux News” I always hear about, right? Funny thing how any time I try to turn on FoxNews it’s always flaming liberals like Shepard Smith or Geraldo Rivera, or moderate liberals like O’Reilly. Other than Sean Hannity, I don’t remember ever seeing a “conservative” on the supposed “conservative” network.

  2. Do they really think this gay marriage issue is going to end Christianity?

Furthermore- do they think the laws of man can change God’s mind? Like God is sitting up in Heaven going “Gosh, I never really thought about it that way before! These progressive humans just outsmarted me! If only this had happened before that pesky Bible thingy was put in print!”.

  3. Years ago Steyn said that there was not a single argument for gay marriage that could not be used for polygamy. And he’s right. Worse, in the UK, now instead of just one useless yob and his wife getting bennies, you have one useless immigrant yob and his pack of first-cousin wives all getting bennies. Shape of things to come.

  4. One more thing…it’s reported that thirty-two states have legislation in support of traditional marriage…so, for Obama, doesn’t that leave twenty-five states to be pandered to?

  5. How brave our leader is! Instead of coming out in support of this very important issue in time to make a difference he instead bravely said nothing until after the decision had been made and took a stand against democracy! This is how communist greats are made.

So the same liberals who demand separation of Church and state want the state to redefine religious principles for the churches the states are supposed to have nothing to do with.

So at what point does the government just throw out the first amendment and start redefining religious dogma wholesale? The separation of church and state was intended to protect religion from government, not the other way around. I am not a Christian myself but religious freedom and protection of religion from government interference is one of the principles that made this country better than all others. It that principles deserves my vigorous defense despite the fact that I don’t directly benefit from it.

  6. Exactly! Talk about anything but the economy and Obamacare and Obama wins!!! This stuff isn’t happening by mistake and the idiot Republicans will fall for it like Charlie Brown for the football!

  8. Bravely bold Sir Barack
    Rode forth from Washinton.
He was not afraid to die,
    Oh brave Sir Barack.
He was not at all afraid
To be killed in nasty ways.
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Barack.

  9. A guy on the radio today claimed to be gay and Christian.
He explained that “God is Love” and so anything anyone does to anyone with anything must be OK as long as they call it “love”.
Sorry, Sunny; God IS Love but God is NOT fornication, bestiality, sodomy or any other nasty practice people have invented through the years (and the list is long) to amuse themselves, no matter what they call it to excuse themselves.
    Is that harsh?
Daylight often seems harsh to those in darkness.
