Ah, our favorite nwktumblr feature is back: the also-rans! These are the alternate versions of our ‘First Gay President’ Newsweek cover that were left on the cutting room floor.
Which one’s your favorite? Your tumblrs are really digging Oliver Munday’s #2, but also like the simplicity #6 (the quote over white) brings to the table.

Why?
Because Obama refers to himself 5 times in one sentence, reminding us all yet again what a friggin’ narcissist the guy is.
And the collection as a whole serves to remind us that Newsweek is so drunken-frat-boy-at-a-toddler’s-birthday-party out-of-touch that they thought the “gaylo” cover they finally ran with was the cream of the crop.
I suspect it was a committee decision by the most sycophantic fellow travelers on the editorial board.

Out of touch? That quote kind of says it all.
“Are You Ready to Eat Jellyfish?” Do we want to go down that exotic food road again? Now there’s a power animal.
Priceless. And spot on.
That explains why he does that ‘sissy shuffle” up and down the steps of Air Force One.
Is this real? This can’t actually be real.
I almost wish they’d gone with the quote on the multi background. Not only for the parade of I-Me-I-Me-O going on… but because it’s a convoluted and stupid sentence. Who talks like this? And of course, it’s important to Him, therefore it’s important to you the proles. Yay gay people! You have achieved true equality: first because President Double Bogey says it, so now it is so; second because you get to be just as much of a prop to His ego and reelection as the rest of your fellow Americans.

I’m thinking the ‘Che-esque Gay Commie Idol’ cover would have been so profoundly honest that I would have felt morally obliged to subscribe to Newsweek out of gratitude. So basically what I’m saying is that I dodged a bullet here.
