Celebrate the Money Pit!

Despite the huge financial losses of “The Lone Ranger”, some Hollywood producers are actually defending the movie.

Must be angling for jobs running one of Obama’s green energy projects.

  1. ….yeah….just think of all the jobs the movie created or saved!

    totally worth it!

Just wait till the government starts making propaganda movies which are now legal. Permanent jobs for Hollywood for ever!

  2. As to this movies failure, I have a theory. OK, OK, it’s not a theory, it’s a snarky comment, but I like it.

You picture a Lone Ranger who is filthy looking, needs a shave, and in general is made to look like a bad guy. Then you add in a Tonto that has zombie/demon paint on and a dusty chicken on his head. This is pop culture’s latest attempt at “grittyness”. It’s not gritty, it’s coarse and signals a guaranteed evening of coarseness. At $20 – $30 bucks each we get to be abused by rude people, sit in dirty seats, eat overpriced junk food and be mentally abused by this film, an others of it’s ilk. How special. America viewed through the eyes of Hollywood. Something that was once great is made vile.

  3. In the Depp oevre, The Lone Ranger today ranks as a woefully underated film, chock full of dramatic nuance and cinematic subtlety, compared to the current releases from the megastudios of BeijingHollywoodDiSKGney. Depp is, today, heralded as the Orson Welles of the 21st century. His remake of Citizen Kane as a post-apocalyptic cartoon/live action sequel to Electric Boogaloo where Rosebud is actually the name of the boombox he had when he first started break-dancing, is, according to EnterTMZtainment Tonight, a lock to sweep the 2019 Acadamy Awards. The name of Jonathan Depp ranks alongside those of Tom Hanks and Stephen Spielberg as Hollywood powerplayers, having recently rescued Oprah from bankruptcy with the demise of OWN (Which has become The Depp Network, running all episodes of 21 Jump Street, and all the Pirates films.)
