Obama Warned Us – Climate

The dangers of extreme weather can be heartbreaking. It’s time to #ActOnClimate.

@BarackObama

“Dangers like, you know, not getting your government grant renewed if your study doesn’t ‘prove’ global warming – hint, hint.”

  1. Come everybody, SING IT!

It’s true! It’s true! The crown has made it clear.
The climate must be perfect all the year.

A law was made a distant moon ago here:
July and August cannot be too hot.
And there’s a legal limit to the snow here
    In Camelot.
The winter is forbidden till December
And exits March the second on the dot.
By order, summer lingers through September
    In Camelot.
    Camelot! Camelot!
I know it sounds a bit bizarre,
    But in Camelot, Camelot
    That’s how conditions are.
The rain may never fall till after sundown.
By eight, the morning fog must disappear.
    In short, there’s simply not
    A more congenial spot
    For happily-ever-aftering than here
    In Camelot.

    Camelot! Camelot!
I know it gives a person pause,
    But in Camelot, Camelot
    Those are the legal laws.
The snow may never slush upon the hillside.
By nine p.m. the moonlight must appear.
    In short, there’s simply not
    A more congenial spot
    For happily-ever-aftering than here
    In Camelot.

  2. Listen to these geniuses? Yeah, they are some reliable sources:

12 Or 10,000: Obama Overstates Kansas Tornado Death Toll

In a gaffe at a political fundraiser in Richmond, Obama overstated the death toll by 9,988

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Barack Obama, caught up in the fervor of a campaign speech Tuesday, drastically overstated the Kansas tornadoes death toll, saying 10,000 had died. The death toll was 12.

“In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died—an entire town destroyed,” the Democratic presidential candidate said in a speech to 500 people packed into a sweltering Richmond art studio for a fundraiser.

Obama mentioned the disaster in Greensburg, Kan., in saying he had been told by the office of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius that the state’s National Guard had been depleted by its commitment to the Iraq War.

“Turns out that the National Guard in Kansas only had 40 percent of its equipment and they are having to slow down the recovery process in Kansas,” Obama said, his shirt sleeves rolled up and his head glistening with sweat.”

Biden Overstates Deaths in Joplin, Missouri Tornado By 160,839

“161,000 brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandparents lost,” said the vice president.

But as Reuters reported in 2011, the death toll was in fact 161.

  3. And now we’re calling it “extreme weather” – as if tornadoes and hurricanes could be controlled if only we weren’t emitting so many gosh-darned greenhouse gases. Republicans want the weather to kill you! Act now!
