This photo is from the Library of Congress:

It’s captioned “Government Hospital For Insane, [Washington, D.C.]” — but it doesn’t appear to be either the Capitol or the Supreme Court building.

REPORTER: What lesson did you learn from impeachment?

PRESIDENT TRUMP:  That the Democrats are crooked.  They’ve got a lot of crooked things going.  That they’re vicious.  That they shouldn’t have brought impeachment.

QOTW: A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.

When you think about America what actor comes to mind? Who embodies the spirit, the ethos that makes America America? For years it was John Wayne. Ask any furriner who it was and you would get the answer John Wayne. Maybe Jimmy Cagney, maybe. Nowadays? I’ve got no clue. We had Clint Eastwood for awhile, but I don’t feel he fully equates to what John Wayne was in that regard.

So the question remains, which actor can fill the Duke’s shoes? Hell, I don’t think anyone can and the best we can do today is finding someone who encompasses all that is wrong with this country, not what is right.

Oh, and I am talking about their work on the silver screen. What they do in their private lives doesn’t matter much for this discussion. When you saw John Wayne on the screen he was John Wayne. He didn’t really play the character so much as the character played him.

So share your thoughts, your arguments, your last beer Pilgrim.

Load Up The B-Ark

There’s a report that some billionaires may end up leaving Earth for space because of Climate ChangeTM or something.

He predicted that a holiday on Axiom would cost $55million, and not only had he recruited world-famous French designer Philippe Starck to create the station’s interior but he was close to doing a deal with a major European fashion house to provide custom-made space suits.

(Michael Suffredini) said that three people had already signed up even though the space station had not yet launched. The station is slated to receive its first guests in 2022.

So, does this remind anyone else of the B-Ark?
