Thursday Night Open Thread

Barenaked Ladies, which is actually four fully-clothed dudes, had one big hit song. It’s probably not the song you’ve heard the most from them, though. They also did the theme to The Big Bang Theory. Of course, you’d probably have to watch The Big Bang Theory to hear it, so there’s always a down side.

While that did look a lot like the car from Starsky and Hutch, the Dukes of Hazzard “look-alike” missed on many levels.

The Absolute Best The Democrats Can Muster

“Not a deep bench,” as the saying goes.

Shortly before the caucuses began on Saturday, Elizabeth Warren surprised her volunteers at Coronado High School in suburban Henderson with two boxes of Dunkin’ Donuts, a favorite from her home state of Massachusetts.

“This is my first election!” one supporter told Warren as an impromptu selfie line began to form.

Don’t meme that cartoon my friend.

One is mine, the others, not so much.

New Moon

So, the Earth has another moon. Turns out we got ourselves a new moon about three years ago, according to a report out of Arizona.

Kacper Wierzchos, a researcher with the Catalina Sky Survey at the University of Arizona’s Lunar and Planetary Lab, tweeted Tuesday. “Earth has a new temporarily captured object/Possible mini-moon called 2020 CD3. On the night of Feb. 15, my Catalina Sky Survey teammate Teddy Pruyne and I found a 20th magnitude object.”

Wierzchos said the object measures about 6 feet to 11 feet across, and its orbit suggests that it entered Earth’s orbit around three years ago.

I’m not sure how this impacts our plans to Nuke The Moon. I can think of a couple of ways this might affect those plans.

First, if we do nuke the moon, we now have a backup moon. It’s a small one, to be sure, but it’s better than nothing. I’m not sure

Second, we could nuke it instead. Or nuke it first, as a test run. That might be a good idea.

So, what do you think? Should we nuke it?
