Tuesday Night Open Thread

As we go though the number one hits of the 1940s, we missed this one, which spent five weeks at the top of the charts. Well, at one of the charts. Remember, Billboard actually had three different charts, the Best Sellers, Juke Box, and Disc Jockey charts. Later, Billboard combined them, but for a period of time in the 1940s, they were all separate, and each was as valid as the other.

Sunset on Mars

What the heck. We won’t know election results for a good long time.

In the meantime, here’s a sunset. On another Freaking Planet with no liberals.

Is That How This Works?

I put a red “X” through the guy I don’t like, and then the nice Democrat poll watchers put in two more pieces of paper for me. That’s what they told me, anyway.

You Can Actually Learn a Lot From Spam

I cut a movie into 10 minute parts and uploaded to youtube, i only had uploaded two parts by the time i got a copyright notice. How can i upload movies without it getting deleted?

Um, you might want to re-examine your premise there, Champ.

How do you copyright content on your site?

Ask the previous guy if that’s even an issue.

I know this site presents quality dependent articles and extra material, is there any other site which offers such information in quality?

Kind of sounds like a subtle insult. Well played!

The first thing that you should consider when choosing the right recliner chair is the kind of mattress that it is made from. Most of the recliners today use either leather or vinyl in their mattresses. Leather is the cheapest type of mattress that can be used while vinyl is the most expensive one.

Good luck with your continued study of English. You’re almost there.

Wait: leather is cheaper than vinyl?

… And from someone who obviously has viewed the Emu photo over and over:

I get this, but even so I have a question. Do you mind answering?

Is that the question?

And Now The Waters Are Muddied Again — Demliberately

On November 4, 1884, Democrat Grover Cleveland defeated Republican James G. Blaine, ending a particularly acrimonious campaign.

The outcome of the presidential race was determined by the electoral vote of New York, which Cleveland won with a plurality of just 1,047 votes.

In an effort to address the problem of voter fraud in presidential elections, Congress passed legislation in 1845 requiring the simultaneous selection of presidential electors in each state.

Prior to the enactment of this law, states selected presidential electors on different dates.

The new law stipulated that presidential electors be selected on the “Tuesday next after the first Monday in the month of November of the year in which they are to be appointed.”

The 1848 election was the first presidential election in which Americans in every state voted on the same day.
