Dodged a Ballot

  1. We live in the boonies here in the mountains of NC. When we’ve had visitors, it’s amusing to watch them lock their cars in our driveway. We live on a private dead end road. There are only five houses past ours. We went to Canada for two weeks and left our doors unlocked. I don’t even think my wife has a key to our house.

Anyhow, it’s hard not to ask people “Who do you think you’re protecting your car from?” I’ve even pointed out the futility of locking their doors when guests have arrived. They may consider what I say, but I’ve never seen them unlock the doors. In their mind, there’s still some boogeyman and they just feel safer if it’s locked.

There aren’t any right wing boogeymen waiting to attack the Capitol, but in the left’s mind there is and we need to shore up the defenses. Forget the fact of the the left-wing violence in recent years. It’s the gun-toting, knuckle-dragging Wal-Mart shoppers who are going to overthrow society.

The world only gets stupider by the day.
