The Hill | 03/15/2024 | Sharon UdasinCalifornia would need to triple the rate of emissions cuts that the state has undertaken since 2010 in order to meet its climate goals for 2030, a new report has found.
The Golden State’s aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent below 1990’s levels by 2030 may be unachievable, according to this year’s California Green Innovation Index, released Thursday by the San Francisco-based nonprofit Next 10.

Joe Biden at the presidential debate, 6/27/2024:
Because if, in fact, he does what he says and walks away – by the way, all that money we give Ukraine and weapons we make here in the United States. We give them the weapons, not the money at this point. And our NATO allies have produced as much funding for Ukraine as we have. That’s why it’s – that’s why we’re strong.

Ukraineform | 7/29/24 | Daryna Vialko
In the coming weeks, Ukraine expects to receive the first $3.9 billion in direct budget support from the United States, totaling $7.85 billion.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram, following his meeting with U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We discussed the issues related to the work of the Multi-Agency Donor Coordination Platform. The financing of budget expenditures, recovery projects, and support for the energy sector are remaining our priorities. Ukraine is grateful for $7.85 billion in direct budget support, which is expected to come from the United States this year. We expect to receive the first $3.9 billion in the coming weeks,” Shmyhal wrote.

Heaviest element yet within reach after major breakthrough
Nature ^ | 23 Jul 2024 | Katherine BourzacScientists at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California, announced today that they have for the first time used a beam of titanium to make a known superheavy element, livermorium — element 116. After upgrading the lab’s equipment, the team plans to use similar techniques to try to produce element 120. The heaviest element that has been made so far is oganesson, element 118, which was first synthesized in 2002.
Please tell me it’s metal.
