Onesie-wearing man named ‘Mr. Pancake’ caught hiding stolen hamsters in pants, police say
WHLA-TV8 | July 12, 2024 | Adam Conn, Nathaniel Rodriguez

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Police arrested a man who they said allegedly broke into several businesses in the far west side of Columbus, Ohio — including a pet store where multiple animals were set loose early Tuesday morning.

According to Columbus police, officers arrived at the Petland store in Hilliard Station at 3:45 a.m. and found an open door. Many animals were roaming free, including birds, dogs, rabbits, gerbils and ferrets.

Officers at the scene were able to recover most of the animals save for a few gerbils, ferrets and rabbits.

Police said they were looking for a homeless man named Matthew Pancake, who also allegedly broke into a Roosters and a Famous Footwear along Hilliard Rome Road.

Body cam video showed the suspect asleep on a bench while wearing a leopard-print onesie.

“Get on your belly, Mr. Pancake!” one officer shouted when they arrested him. “In the name of the law Pancake, get on your belly!”

At the Famous Footwear crime scene, blood was also found on some of the merchandise.

The man was located about an hour later in the parking area of a Big Lots on Roberts Road. Police said several hamsters, initially mistaken for gerbils, were found unharmed inside the man’s pants.

“What the heck?” said one officer as he pulled the hamsters out of Pancake’s pants.

“For your safety, is there a gerbil inside you?” asked another officer.

The man was treated for injuries sustained while breaking into the businesses.

Ravizza “Wanted To Have Some Fun”

Martha’s Vineyard Times | May 28, 2024

Jared Ravizza, the Vineyard man accused of a stabbing spree Saturday on the South Shore, had a simple answer when asked why he later led state troopers on a high-speed chase that ended in a fiery crash of his SUV.

Rushed to the South Shore Hospital in an ambulance, Ravizza told an emergency room nurse that “he wanted to have fun tonight, and he was running from the police because he wanted to have some fun.”

[Big fan of Wang Chun and Cindi Lauper, apparently.]

He now faces 14 criminal charges as officials accused him of wounding six people with a knife in two seemingly random attacks on the South Shore, set an arraignment date for him in Edgartown for allegedly attacking his father, and identified him as the focus of a homicide investigation in Connecticut.

Whew! He identifies as a tri-felonial!

Ravizza … remained silent during two separate hearings Tuesday when he was arraigned in Plymouth District Court for allegedly using a kitchen knife to slash two employees of a nearby McDonald’s restaurant on Route 3 in Braintree. His lawyers filed a plea of not guilty in the case.

One of the victims, Eliamny Garcia, had only arrived in the United States early last week and Saturday, when the attack occurred, was her first day at work. She was midway through her 8 am to 7 pm shift at the McDonald’s when she heard “a commotion” coming from the drive-through window, she told police in Spanish.

Moments later, she told police, she saw Ravizza enter the front door. She said he looked like “a homeless person,” with shaggy, shoulder-length blond hair and no shirt.

It was then that she noticed he was carrying a knife that looked about nine inches long.

“Ms. Garcia stated that the suspect was holding the knife above his head and she saw him start to run or walk quickly towards her,” the police report said. When she retreated, “she was stabbed by the suspect near the potato machine

🙂

She put her hands and arms up in a defensive posture and the suspect stabbed her in a diagonal north to south motion.”

🙂

Igor Marques, 29, was shift commander at the restaurant.

🙂

… Marques told police that Ravizza “looked like a man and a woman at the same time, had long blond hair, pink fingernails and… looked stressed.

Another witness, Dorrie Young, described Ravizza as “appearing like a 1970s rock star” because of his bare chest, long blond hair and “wild” colored, baggy pants. She noticed him outside the restaurant urinating.

🙂

“Young stated that she was startled, surprised and taken off guard by this” as she saw his private parts, she told police. She said Ravizza “had a ‘big expression’ on his face, which she later described to be akin to Jack Nicholson’s expression in The Shining.”

… Connecticut State Police are separately investigating Ravizza in connection with the death of a 70-year-old man in Deep River, a small town in the southern part of the state. The body of Bruce Feldman was found outside a house Saturday afternoon after police responded to a report of an “audible disturbance.”

Dan Greenfield on Trump Trial

This guy’s got a way with words.

Trump Found Guilty of Running Against Democrats
Front Page Magazine | May 31, 2024 | Daniel Greenfield

After deliberating for 9 hours, a jury of Trump’s Manhattan Trump-hating peers found him guilty of a crime that doesn’t exist anywhere in the legal codes, invented by a DA who had promised not to prosecute armed robberies but chose instead to prosecute a non-disclosure agreement.

… None of the 8 murders, 54 rapes, 204 burglaries, 303 robberies, 535 felony assaults or 891 grand larcenies that occurred in New York City the same week as the Trump trial garnered a fraction of the attention. That was bad news for the 26 shooting victims, including the 15-year-old girl, and the 54 rape victims, not to mention the other victims in the other 110 sex crimes that all had to take a backseat to a Democrat kangaroo court cutting a 2024 presidential election ad.

Toward the end, the Biden campaign even dispatched an angry and belligerent Robert De Niro (Dirty Grandpa, Little Fockers) in a COVID mask to yell something about Trump outside the courthouse. The prosecution’s case in the courthouse was little more coherent than that, but it didn’t matter with a jury that would have found Trump guilty sooner if it wasn’t for the free food.

After waiting right before the weekend, the jury announced that he was guilty. Of something.

Well Reasoned, Clark Wren. Well Argued.

The Extortion of Donald Trump

Clark Wren | American Thinker | 1/28/2024

President Trump has been robbed of his freedom of speech.  None of this has happened by accident.  There has always been a political purpose behind the laws and the indictments and the extortion.

In the age of King John of England, the law was used to oppress.  The judicial system existed then and now to keep the people in line.  One of the great mythic stories from Middle Ages is that of Robin Hood, who was an outlaw on the run in Sherwood Forest with his merry men.  Those men are now Rudy Giuliani and the rest of the Trump team who have been indicted.

Let’s follow the trail back to its origins, like a trail left by a dog that has a bladder problem.  Governor Hochul of New York signs into law the Adult Survivors Act, a law that allows survivors of sexual assault to sue their abusers regardless of when the abuse occurred.  At face value, it sounds like a good and righteous law.  One of the first to file was E. Jean Carroll.  She had no evidence except what she said and what she told a few friends, which was eerily similar to an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.  She also had a photograph of her and Trump in a crowd together.  President Trump claims to this day he never met her.  (Do you remember everyone who was in a crowd when you were in the picture?)  Nevertheless, the evidence, which was virtually nonexistent, was irrelevant.  President Trump could never get a fair trial in NYC.  He was found liable for sexual abuse and ordered to pay $5 million.

Of course, President Trump fumed about this.  Wouldn’t you fume about a law that was specifically designed as a political attack against you and allowed no possibility of defending yourself and required no evidence?

Now another NYC jury has found Trump guilty of defamation and ordered him to pay $83.3 million.  They intended to send a message, but the message they sent has the exact opposite meaning of what they intended.  The whole process has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the justice system now exists to oppress Trump, oppress his family, oppress his closest associates, and oppress his supporters.

The message sent has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the justice system is vastly more powerful than the vote.  You and I and our power to be heard through the vote is now powerless against the oppressor justice system and another omnipotent institution: the MVM (Martha’s Vineyard Media).  Virtually all of the information we get is from MVM elites, who hate Trump because he dared to speak for the people.

The message being sent here is clear: anyone who dares to defy the permanent elites will be fleeced, extorted, charged, and indicted.

$83 million?

No! No-o-o! No!! No.

No More ‘Edecanes:’ Eye-Candy Models No Longer Allowed at Mexico City Events

Mexico News Daily |August 17, 2018

Attractive, sometimes scantily clad female models who are often employed at events to greet guests or simply to act as eye candy will no longer be allowed at government events in Mexico City.

The capital’s mayor, José Ramón Amieva, last week banned the employment of the attendants known in Mexico as edecanes at events sponsored by the local government, stating that “this job should not exist” because “it goes against policies of gender equality.”

The decision breaks new ground in a country where entrenched gender stereotypes often continue to relegate women to support roles in the workforce.

“Women have a potential equal to or greater than that of men,” Amieva said. “Any circumstance that may degrade or stereotype women must be eliminated.”

Shelby Park, Texas: Fort Sumpter?

https://threadreaderapp.com ^ | 1-11-24 | Bill Melugin

The Texas Military Department confirms the TX National Guard has seized control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass (city property where mass illegal crossings are), and is restricting Border Patrol from accessing the area, saying the Feds “perpetuate illegal crossings”. This is the area where Border Patrol has been cutting TX razor wire. Razor wire and fences are now deployed to block the area off from the public and federal government. Attached video is from our crew on the ground this morning as they began blocking it off.

You can expect DOJ to sue Texas over this.

Texas Military Department statement:

“The Texas National Guard has maintained a presence with security points and temporary barrier in Shelby Park since 2021. The current posture is to prepare for future illegal immigrant surges and to restrict access to organizations that perpetuate illegal immigrant crossings in the park and greater Eagle Pass area.”

@BPUnion statement:

“Governor Abbott is not harming Border Patrol operations, he is enhancing them. His seizing control of Shelby Park allows our agents to deploy to troubled spots that experience high numbers of gotaways. Governor Abbott’s actions should be seen as a force multiplier.” @BPUnion The city of Eagle Pass also confirms that its mayor was notified by @TxDPS that TX was taking control of Shelby Park as a result of @GovAbbott emergency declaration.

Texas blocks federal border agents from processing migrants in Eagle Pass public park
CBS News | January 12, 2024 | Camilo Montoya-Galvez

Washington — Texas state officials this week abruptly blocked federal U.S. Border Patrol agents from entering and patrolling a public area in the border town of Eagle Pass where they typically first encounter migrants who cross the Rio Grande illegally, two U.S. officials told CBS News on Thursday.

After seizing control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, Texas National Guard units deployed by Republican Gov. Greg Abbott have prevented Border Patrol agents from entering the area, the federal officials said. Border Patrol has used the park in recent weeks to hold migrants in an outdoor staging area before they are transported for further processing, including last month, when illegal crossings soared to record levels.

Earlier Thursday, Texas state officials prevented Border Patrol boats from patrolling that area, one of the officials added, requesting anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press.

Nancy Pelosi Claims She ‘Begged’ for National Guard Troops on J6
The Politics Brief | January 10, 2024 | Nathan Baker

“. . . from the undisclosed location, Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell and I were begging the administration to send the National Guard, to send the National Guard.”

“We spoke to the Army, the Secretary of the Army,” she went on. “‘Well, I don’t know. It takes time. I have to talk to my boss about it.’ His boss being the acting Secretary of Defense, who that one thing and another.”

“So it took hours, hours of what we have seen transpire, hours where we saw people going under the dome that Lincoln built,” she added. “Lincoln built the dome during the Civil War. People said, ‘don’t build the dome, use the steel, and then person power, the manpower for the war. And he said, ‘no, I must show our resolve and our strength to build the dome’ and to see the confederate flag under that dome, to see the disrespect.”

“They’re coming,” she continued. “A bullet in my head, hanging Pence, and the President being so casual about it. So it’ll be interesting to see how we proceed. But remember this, whether it was our testimony for the Electoral College case, whether it was what the January 6th committee put forth and what you’re hearing today, overwhelmingly coming from the Republicans.”

He’s Been Everywhere, Man

“I’ve spent more time in the Bethel AME Church in Wilmington, Delaware, than most people I know, black or white, have spent in that church because that’s where I started a civil rights movement,” Biden said.

Tougher Visa Rules Unveiled in Plan To Cut Migration to the United Kingdom
BBC ^ | Dec 5, 2023

The UK government has introduced measures it promised would deliver the biggest ever cut in net migration after levels soared to a record high.

Home Secretary James Cleverly . . .

🙂

announced a five-point plan to curb immigration, which he said was “far too high”.

The changes included hiking the minimum salary needed for skilled overseas workers from £26,200 to £38,700. ($50,000)

Mr Cleverly claimed 300,000 people who were eligible to come to the UK last year would not be able to in future.

The minimum income for family visas has also risen to £38,700. ($50,000)

In a statement to MPs, the home secretary said migration to the UK “needs to come down” and there had been “abuse” of health and care visas for years.

“Enough is enough,” Mr Cleverly said. “Immigration policy must be fair, legal, and sustainable.”

The migration plan comes after official figures last month showed net migration had soared to a record 745,000 in 2022.

Conservative MPs have since piled pressure on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his government to bring down net migration, which is the difference between those entering and leaving the UK.

The sharp increase represents a huge political challenge for Mr. Sunak and the Conservatives, who have repeatedly promised to reduce net migration since winning power in 2010, and “take back control” of the UK’s borders since the Brexit vote.

If you’ve been promising to do something since 2010, it ain’t gonna happen.

Ireland Can No Longer Accommodate All Seeking Asylum, Dept. Confirms
RTÉ News | 4 Dec 2023

Ireland: The Department of Integration can no longer provide accommodation to all international protection applicants, due to a severe shortage.

In a statement this afternoon, a spokesperson for the Department said tents and sleeping bags will be provided to people where required.

Should be comfortable in winter.

A total of 107 people were accommodated over the weekend; however, from today, the State is not in a position to accommodate everyone.

Women and children will still be accommodated, the spokesperson added.

How sexist and ageist of them.

Over 100,000 people are currently being accommodated in Ireland. […]

Speaking on RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, (Lucky) Khambule (from MASI, the Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland) said the State is required to provide accommodation for people arriving into the country “in accordance with the EU directive of which Ireland is signatory to”.

That’s a lot of loose prepositions floating around.

He said more buildings should have been secured by the department and there is a lack of effort in securing those buildings around the country.

Does Lucky own a house that could be used?

AND NOW: {drumroll} . . .

Two of the most incoherent sentences you will ever read outside of a Biden speech. They clearly don’t teach sentence construction to spokesmen:

“With the fact that they are allowing the fear that is imposed by the local communities, powered by the far right to refuse to accommodate people seeking protecting in this country.

“We have seen it in Kerry, we have seen it in Leitrim, for the places that were earmarked for that.”

Is “The Department of Integration” in Ireland is now to be deemed an extremist organization, since they, too, oppose further immigration?

It Was a Hamas Rocket That Hit the Hospital, Not an Israeli One

IDF: Explosion at Gaza hospital was caused by errant Islamic Jihad rocket
Arutz Sheva | 10-17-2023

The IDF announced that the initial investigation into the explosion at the Ahli Baptist Hospital in central Gaza where Hamas claims as many as 500 people were killed was caused by a Hamas rocket that was misfired and struck the hospital and not by an Israeli airstrike.

The IDF statement says that “an analysis of IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time it was hit.”

This video appears to confirm that. It launches from Gaza, misfires, and strikes the ground. Even Al Jazeera broadcast it, which is like CBS and ABC and the Washington Post doing so.

New York Police Will Use Drones To Monitor Backyard Parties This Weekend, Spurring Privacy Concerns
AP News | August 31, 2023 | Jake Offenhartz

Those attending outdoor parties or barbecues in New York City this weekend may notice an uninvited guest looming over their festivities: a police surveillance drone.

The New York City police department plans to pilot the unmanned aircrafts in response to complaints about large gatherings, including private events, over Labor Day weekend, officials announced Thursday.

“If a caller states there’s a large crowd, a large party in a backyard, we’re going to be utilizing our assets to go up and go check on the party,” Kaz Daughtry, the assistant NYPD Commissioner, said at a press conference.

The plan drew immediate backlash from privacy and civil liberties advocates, raising questions about whether such drone use violated existing laws for police surveillance.

“… “Deploying drones in this way is a sci-fi inspired scenario.”

Mayor Eric Adams, a former police captain, has said he wants to see police further embrace the “endless” potential of drones…

In Quest for Battery Metals, U.S. Takes On Cobalt’s ‘Inconvenient Truth’
Wall St Journal via MSN | 24 Aug 2023 | Alexandra Wexler, Yusuf Khan

The U.S. is turning to a much-criticized source as it races to secure supplies of battery metals to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles.

To do so, it is homing in on cobalt from the Democratic Republic of Congo’s informal mining sector, where miners, sometimes including children, often work with no safety equipment in dangerous, hand-dug mines. Congo supplies around 70% of the world’s cobalt, a key metal in the lithium-ion batteries used in EVs, with about a third of that coming from these so-called artisanal miners.

The U.S. Agency for International Development said earlier this year that it would issue grants to companies that source critical minerals from Congo and were willing to support artisanal miners. Meanwhile, the Labor Department has been working with officials in the country to help improve working conditions and oversight.
